1. Guy Montag- A 30 year old fireman that burns books. He has a wife named Mildred, but they don't have a great marriage. He recently determined that his life was empty and wanted to search for meaning.
2. Mildred Montag- Is married to Guy. She is obsessed with watching tv. Doesn't have a good relationship with her husband, and refuses to acknowledge it.
3. Clarisse McClellan- A seventeen year old girl. She is an outcast from the rest of the world. Opens up Guy's eyes to the worlds potential.

4. Captain Beatty- Captain of the fire department where Guy works. Hates books and people that read them.

5. Stoneman and Black- Two fireman that work with Guy.

6. Granger- The leader of the "Book People." Is very intelligent and trying to save literature.
