Setting
- This book takes place in a small American town, set in the future where firemen light fires instead of putting them out.
Important Events
1) Guy Montag meets a 17 year old girl named Clarisse McClellen. Clarisse is a very open person who makes Montag really think about his take on life, and his fireman job.
2) Montag walks into his bedroom, and stumbles over something. He picks it up and discovers it is an empty bottle of sleeping pills that his wife took. He felt her cold pale face, and knew something was wrong, so he calls the emergency hospital.
3) Montag is starting to get curious about books. So when he responds to an alarm at 11 No. Elm, City, he peeks at a book, and has to have it. He sneekily puts the book under his arm.
4) Later when Montag gets home, Mildred is in bed, she wakes up and notices how wierd Montag is acting. He slips the book under is pillow talks his way out of questions and goes to bed.
5) The next day Montag is so distraught that he can't even go to work. Beatty knows this
